NCM Selected to Redesign Barter Theatre

Brian Maddox of NCM, Richard Rose of Barter Theatre, and John Williams of NCM during our kickoff meeting
The good folks at Barter Theatre, the state theatre of Virginia, have asked us to help redesign their web site. Barter’s story is part of the story of many of America’s favorite actors like Gregory Peck, Patricia Neal, Ernest Borgnine, Hume Cronyn and Ned Beatty.

They’re one of the few remaining resident repertory theatres in the country, where the actors work together year-round. Each Barter actor is usually performing in two productions and rehearsing two productions at any one time. Every play they produce is either original to the Barter Theatre or uniquely adapted for the Barter.

They’re facing some interesting challenges as their audience is changing. They’ve been able to grow attendance about 10% a year over the last few years, while the industry as a whole has declined by 8-9% a year.

David Poteet, Erin Simmons and Brian Maddox are leading this project for New City Media.

We look forward to telling their story!

Yay! That’s great. Maybe the William King Art Center can be next?! Great news.
