Best of Interactive & Gold for National Geographic Jamestown Site

natgeojamestown.jpgNew City Media was awarded the Best of Interactive Award and a Gold for Flash-based web design at the Western Virginia Addy Awards. Both awards were given in recognition of the work we did with National Geographic Magazine in celebration of Jamestown’s 400th anniversary.

The website shows the perspectives of the English settlers as well as the local Indians. Split into two parts with detailed maps, intriguing video interviews, and photo galleries of archeological artifacts—the Jamestown colony of John Smith and the nearby Indian village of Werowocomoco, where Pocahontas and Chief Powhatan lived, make for a powerful experience worth exploring.
